The mountain community of Amden on Lake Walensee was a hub for social and artistic experimentation as early as the beginning of the 20th century. Over the past 15 years, many artists have been invited to exhibit at the Amden Atelier, a small farm, or to use the facilities to create a work of art. This publication covers all exhibitions and installations staged since 1999 and describes and discusses the individual art projects. The book is complemented by essays on the landscape, the site and its conversion into an exhibition space, as well as on the curatorial concept and its development in recent years.
